Presented by California Lawyers for the Arts in partnership with the California Museum, the IP + Design Conference features a panel discussion on intellectual property issues impacting the design industry with experts Andrew Stroud and Stephen Davis. Following the discussion, attendees will be invited to attend a reception featuring a meet and greet with Primo Angeli and receive admission to tour the exhibit “Primo Angeli: Evolution of a Legendary Designer” open through Jan. 29, 2017.
Presenters:
Andrew Stroud, Esq. is recognized as one of Sacramento’s top civil litigators. He has served as outside litigation counsel for three California Governors: Governor Gray Davis, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Governor Jerry Brown. As litigation counsel, Andy has represented the State in many complex and high profile actions. He has represented both regional and national companies in commercial and business litigation as well. Andy also has significant expertise in litigating intellectual property claims for copyright and trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, and unfair competition. Andy’s clients include the late Jim Marshall, the “Godfather” of rock n’ roll photography, as well as many other rock photographers. Andy has lectured on copyright law at University of California, Boalt Hall, as well as at the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law. In addition, Andy formerly served as the Chair of the Executive Committee for the Intellectual Property Section of the California State Bar.
Steve Davis, Esq. in partner in the firm of Davis and Leonard, LLP. Mr. Davis' practice encompasses copyright, trademarks, trade secrets, unfair competition, the Internet and e-commerce, and art law, as well as general business formation, finance, and operations. His practice is equally divided in these areas between transactional work, including advice, registration, and drafting contracts, and litigation. Steve has extensive experience in civil litigation in state and federal courts, and has prosecuted misdemeanor and felony criminal cases as a deputy district attorney with the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.
