Event Description

For the last eight years, the Annual Richmond Choreographers' Showcase has provided an opportunity to emerging and established choreographers to premiere new and recent works within one program. Produced by Starr Foster Dance Project, the Showcase is presented with the sole mission to not only offer opportunities to choreographers, but to also bring the Richmond community together and celebrate dance and the performing arts. The choreographers submit applications to be considered for concert participation and are then selected through an adjudication process.
This years Showcase choreographers are Amanda Kinzer (Norfolk, VA), Charlottesville Ballet (Charlottesville, VA), danahbellaDanceWorks (Roanoke, VA), Free Range Dance (Charlottesville, VA), bnw:dance (Richmond, VA), Marilyn Marloff (Norfolk, VA), Megan Thompson (Norfolk, VA), Melodie Fais (Richmond, VA), Kyoko Ruch (Richmond, VA), The Rawson Project (San Jose, CA), Samantha Speis (Brooklyn, NY) and Starr Foster Dance Project (Richmond, VA).
The Showcase performances will be presented at the Grace Street Theatre on Saturday, March 5th at 4pm and 8pm and on Sunday, March 6th at 2pm. Admission to the Showcase is set at the low cost of $10 to encourage the general public to come out, experience and support the performing arts.
