Event Description
French music during the reigns of Louis XIII and Louis XIV centered around the air de coeur and ballet de coeur, sublime vocal and dance music that appeared at court and in the plays of Molière, eventually leading to the development of French opera. Featuring Pascale Beaudin (soprano) and an array of superb instrumentalists playing on violins, viols, and lutes, Chatham Baroque brings to life rarely heard jewels of music by Jean-Baptiste Lully and his predecessors.
