Carlton Ward Jr. is an environmental photojournalist from Clearwater with graduate training in ecology and anthropology. Through his photographs, he aims to promote conservation of natural environments and cultural legacies.
Working with a team of conservationists, Carlton founded the Florida Wildlife Corridor initiative on Earth Day 2010 with a goal of connecting landscapes between the Everglades and Georgia. In 2012, he led a 100-day, 1000-mile expedition from Everglades National Park to the Okefenokee Swamp in southern Georgia. The journey continued in May 2015, with a 70-day, 1000-mile trek from the Everglades Headwaters near Orlando to Gulf Islands National Seashore near Pensacola, bringing new attention to a statewide vision to keep Florida wild.
The Tampa Garden Club invites you to come hear Carlton Ward talk about his work and to enjoy his storytelling through his award-winning photography.
