Broadway Birthday Bash

Carrie St. Louis and friends present Broadway Birthday Bash, a one-night only charity concert event featuring songs of celebration, hope and joy to benefit the non-profit, arts education center, the Los Angeles Music and Art School (LAMusArt), as it celebrates its 75th year of serving East Los Angeles youth. 

This lively event will feature songs and stories performed by musicians, actors and vocalists from the Broadway, television and film communities in solidarity with children who need the arts most but are getting it the least, and those who support a more creative, compassionate and inclusive arts community for all.

About the Charity

LAMusArt provides affordable, multidisciplinary and sequential arts instruction in music, visual art, dance, and drama during non-school hours to predominantly K-12 students residing in the greater East Los Angeles area. 

On the surface, LAMusArt’s services provide opportunities for students to receive an arts education, but on a deeper level, our programs offer an outlet for creative expression, an alternative to involvement in high-risk behavior, a safe place to develop skills and confidence, and a means to a successful future. At LAMusArt, we envision a community where the arts contribute to the development of not only a just society, but the transformation of individuals.

Arts education programs are often the first to be cut when public school funding is limited, leaving many students without equal access to creative learning even though studies show the lasting benefits of arts engagement in students’ personal, academic and professional lives in this day and age. We believe affordable and accessible arts programs work to benefit students and their communities by expanding one’s world outlook, sharpening one’s creative skills, and contributing to one’s social and behavioral development. We provide the resources needed to supplement a full and successful life of artistic engagement.
