If you were at Sam Craft and Alexis Marceaux's first show at Pittsburgh Winery a few years back, you know why they occasionally describe Alexis and The Samurai as a "two man trio." Both play multiple instruments, often more than one at a time, and both sing in multiple languages. Come experience for yourself why these two are widely proclaimed as rising stars in the ranks of musicians from New Orleans. The duo is on the road in support of their brand new LP Move Into View.
Alexis and Sam are also the core of Sweet Crude, a popular percussion-driven indie pop band that sings in Cajun French. On her own, Alexis has performed on The Voice and was recently nominated by Gambit Weekly for the Best Female Performer category of the Big Easy Awards. Sam grew up as a professionally performing New Orleans musician, starting with his father's big band, The New Leviathan Oriental Fox-Trot Orchestra, and was a founder of Glasgow. Sam is also the Nathan Zoob of New Orleans - the guy everyone wants to perform and record with.
Speaking of Nathan Zoob, according to the Post-Gazette: "Since arriving here in 2006 to attend Carnegie Mellon University, he has been entrenched in the local music scene, playing with Mark Dignam, Backstabbing Good People and Wreck Loose. He has also been the first guy to call when putting together a tribute concert or an event like WYEP’s Holiday Hootenanny." We are excited to finally do an event with Zoob.
Three sweethearts on Valentine's Day. Perfect.
