An evening of classic jazz standards, along with a mix of some of Alex's favorite pop tunes, reimagined. Joined by George Caldwell, Jeff Campbell, & John Bacon Jr., Alex is looking forward to sharing some of the things she has been avidly listening to & learning from the last few months with some of the people she considers both her mentors & good friends. Featuring renditions of jazz standards by Cassandra Wilson & Dianne Reeves, to songs presenting her ideas/feelings about the current conditions of our world from the likes of Michael Jackson & Genesis, the evening is sure to be one you don't want to miss.

 

Alex McArthur is an active jazz/funk, & classical vocalist/musical theatre performer based in Buffalo, New York. Known for her energetic & intimate vocal performances, Alex regularly performs  throughout the region.She and her groups have performed at many venues, festivals, & events in the Western New York area & beyond, such as Pausa Art House, Buffalo Iron Works, Larkin Square, Lewiston Jazz Festival, and the Queen City Jazz Festival, and received the JazzBuffalo Rising Star Award of 2016, as well as, Jazz Female Vocalist Award in 2018. She spends most of her weekends singing out in the Buffalo community or playing private events & weddings, which take her anywhere from Northern Pennsylvania to Central New York. In her free time, she participates in musicals with theatre companies in the area and is a member of Vocalis Chamber Choir & The Women of Vivaldi.
