Albert Lee is a Grammy Award-winning British guitarist and multiple recipientof Guitar Player Magazine’s“Best Country Guitarist” who is celebrated by fans and musicians the world over for his fingerstyle and hybridpicking technique. Lee has worked both in the studio and on tour with many notable musicians from a widerange of genres including ERIC CLAPTON, the EVERLY BROTHERS, BILL WYMAN, EMMYLOUHARRIS, JOE COCKER, JACKSON BROWNE, ROSANNE CASH, and more. In 2002, he appeared on stageat the Concert for George, celebrating the life and music of Beatle George Harrison.Albert is touring the USA, Canada and England in 2024 and 2025 celebrating the release of his new album,LAY IT DOWN. Recorded at the legendary Konk Studios in London in March 2024,LAY ITDOWNis a tribute to some of Albert's favorite artists and biggest inspirations.From Mark Knopfler's blistering Setting Me Up to Jimmy Webb's soaring piano ballad Too Young ToDie, to The Everly Brothers' storming hit The Price Of Love, Albert's latest album sees his triumphantreturn to the studio, recording live, as one of the greatest guitarists ever.Leestarted his music career at a very early age in England.With the likes of Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry andtheEverly Brothers on the radio, Albert took to playing all over London in bars and church halls. In themid to late60s,a time of wah-wah pedals and distortion with Jimmy Hendrix and Eric Clapton fronting the music scene,Albert had his first taste of commercial success playing with Chris Farlowe and TheThunderbirds. Albert soonfound his favored guitar of choice, the Fender Telecaster,(whileeveryone else was playing Gibson Les Pauland Fender Stratocaster),andalong with this he discovered his love for country music.


Traveling back and forth between Los Angeles and the U.K., Albert worked with the likes of“A Poet and a OneMan Band”with future Fairport Convention guitarist Jerry Donahuebefore joining 'The Crickets,' with whomhe recorded and toured. 'Poet And The One Man Band' eventuallyevolved into 'Heads Hands & Feet' withwhom Albert enjoyed some commercial success, most notably in the U.K. Albert eventually got to meet andwork with his idols,the Everly Brothers,playing with Don as lead guitarist and harmony singer in his touringband.In themid-70s,AlbertjoinedJoe Cocker’s band, whichled him to an opportunity to tour with Emmylou Harris&The Hot Band. With the help of Emmylou's husband and producer,Brian Ahearn alongside The Hot Band,Albert recorded his first solo album, 'Hiding' (1979).Then cametouring anda series of collaborations withlong-time friend Eric Claptonthat spanned five years andincludedrecording the albums “Another Ticket”, “Money and Cigarettes” and the double live set,“Just OneNight,” recorded at Budokan in 1979.On September 23, 1983, the Everly Brothers played their reunion concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall, andAlbertwas on hand astheguitaristhand-picked and agreed to by both brothers.He continued that role, touringand recording with them for over 25years.Albert continued to play on the road, working with a variety of artists and bands including Rosanne Cash,andeventuallyEnglish pedal steel guitaristGerry Hogan, whoinvited Albert to front his band 'Hogan's Heroes.'This was the start of something both extremely different but hugely enjoyable for Albert, who at first wassomewhat nervous about leading a band for the first time, but soon found his feet,and in turn,great successwith the group.Alberthas been awardedtwoGrammysfor “Best Country Instrumental Performance”in his illustrious career.In 2002, for “Foggy Mountain Breakdown,” from the album“Earl Scruggs & Friends,” andagainin 2009 forhis work on Brad Paisley'strack“Cluster Pluck.”Healso received nominations for tracks on threeofhissoloalbums.Lee has received many other awardsas a guitarist, winning Guitar Player Magazine’s “Best CountryGuitarist”five consecutive times.


AlbertLee is known within the music industry for hisspeed of playing and his technical virtuositybutisalsoone of the most melodic players. He’s often referred to as “the guitar player’s guitar player.” His song “CountryBoy” helped to redefine country guitar for a whole generation of players and was later to become a #1 hit formulti-instrumentalist Ricky Skaggs.In the early 2000s,Alberttoured regularly with Bill Wyman’s RhythmKings. Sugar Hill Records released Albert’s solo efforts, “Heartbreak Hill” in 2003 and “Road Runner” in 2006.In 2011, a summer jaunt with guitarist John Jorgenson prompted Albert to form his own U.S. band for the veryfirst time, and to this day, he maintains a robust solo career and continues to tour with his great band, selling outvenues from coast to coastand overseas.
