Event Description
*(With Special Guest- Timothy Bradley, Jr.!)
In 1967 Muhammad Ali (the most recognizable face on earth), the world heavyweight boxing champion and former Olympic gold medalist was drafted and called for induction to serve in the Vietnam War. He refused based on religious grounds but was sentenced to serve 5 years in prison. What followed was 3 1/2 years of battles with the government, courts, and public opinion. Ali became a polarizing figure in American society, viewed as either a traitor or hero. Combined with being an African-American and a Muslim compounded Ali's challenges for respect and equality in the 1960's.
An AmDocs Film Fund Winner for 2012, we are proud to share Director Bill Siegel's "The Trials of Muhammad Ali" with our audience as a Southern California premiere. This film is sure to be an Oscar contender.
(AmDocs is proud to announce that World Welterweight Champion, Timothy Bradley, Jr. will be introducing the Southern California premiere of this special film)
