Intro to Rum Class

The Tender Academy classes continue! On this Saturday we celebrate rum, and our resident rum enthusiast, Craig Mrusek (a.k.a. Doctor Bamboo) will give an introduction to the major styles of rum, how they're made, and what contributes to their different flavors.

We'll talk about regional variations (like Jamaican, Martiniquan, rhum agricole, and aged) and all the different grades of rum (dark, light, gold, overproof, spiced, etc.). You'll learn how distilleries differ in their approaches to making these rums. We'll throw in a little history and trivia, and of course field your questions for an engaging and enlightening afternoon.

Class would be no fun without drinking, so we'll welcome you with a rum punch right away. And during the lessons, you'll enjoy multiple tastings that emphasize the different flavors of rum. We'll also have some light snacks for you from Tender's kitchen.
