Event Description
NEW EPIC THEATER presents
ONE ARM
May 7-17, 2015
The hit 2014 Minnesota Fringe workshop becomes the inaugural production of a smart, young, & empowered new kind of ensemble theater.
Moisés Kaufman's fast, fierce, brutally beautiful stage adaptation of an unproduced screenplay by Tennessee Williams. ONE ARM is the story of Ollie, a young farm boy who joins the Navy and becomes a boxing champion. Soon after, he loses his arm in a car accident, and turns to hustling to survive.
This adaptation is not a realistic play. Using meta-theatrical device, it resurrects a text from one of America’s greatest playwrights (that was too shocking to be produced within his lifetime) asserting theater’s ability to create informed dialogue and give new political context to a story from the past.
Featuring: Torsten Johnson*, H. Adam Harris*, Craig Johnson,
Aeysha Kinnunen, and Adam Qualls
Director / Scenographer: Joseph Stodola
Movement: James Kunz
*Member, Actors' Equity Association
