Event Description

Alloy PGH and the Rivers of Steel join forces with Treading Art for this exciting event at the Carrie Furnaces.

If you missed Alloy PGH's opening on 9/26 or you’d like to experience it all over again then we invite you to join us and our special guest hosts.

Hop on a celebrity tour and explore the eleven temporary site-based art installations that are nestled throughout the furnace. When dusk begins to set in along the Monongahela indulge in a regional street food inspired dinner from the dynamite Homestead catering company Iron Oven. To accompany the meal enjoy two delicious pints from Braddock’s innovative Brew Gentlemen (or a more designated driver appropriate beverage).

When the sun has almost faded we invite you to find a spot and set up your favorite camping chair or blanket for a screening of Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times – a film that captures the spirit of modern industrial society in a venue that epitomized 20th century industrial progress (read: Carrie 6 and 7 produced 1000-1250 tons of iron a day during its peak!).

Oh, and keep an eye out for the homemade popcorn bar!

The Alloy Pittsburgh 2015 artists are Patrick Camut, Rose Clancy, Oreen Cohen, Sarika Goulatia, Dan Ivec, Alyssa Kail, Nick Liadis, Ricardo Robinson, Lenore Thomas, John Tronsor, and Scott Turri.

UPDATE: THE WEATHER WILL BE A BIT COOL, SO THE SCREENING WILL TAKE PLACE INSIDE THE POWER HOUSE AT CARRIE.
