Camp Information:
The 402 Arts Collective is proud to announce its first annual three day long jazz workshop. The Collective has teamed up with a wide variety of Omaha's best jazz educators and performers to host and exciting learning experience for all aspiring jazz musicians. Wether your an incoming middle schooler, or a seasoned college musician studying music, this camp is designed for the player of any skill level. The 402 Arts Collective Jazz Workshop is a great opportunity to develop your talents, obtain practical musical information, improve your reading ability, learn a variety of different improvisational techniques, and build lasting friendships with other musicians in the community.
Tentative Schedule
Wednesday - Friday June 13-15th
8:30-9:00am - Check-in (Wednesday only)
9:00-9:50 am - Ear Training
10:00-11:30am - Ensemble Rehearsal
11:40-12:30pm - Group Session /Clinic
12:30-1:30pm - Lunch
1:30-2:20pm - Improvisation Class
2:30pm-4:00pm - Ensemble Rehearsal
Also on Friday:
6:00pm - Camp pre-concert meeting 6:30pm - Doors open
7:00pm - Free public Concert (Performances by all camp participants and the 402 Arts Collective Staff.)
Fees/Facility:
We understand that finances are a concern in todays economy, especially for families with children involved in the arts. The expected cost of a three day camp can run upwards to $300, or in many cases even more. We want you or your child to have an exceptional educational experience, without robbing your pocketbook. This years workshop will run $65.00. This fee includes an opportunity to work with professional educators and musicians in multiple settings:
- Group sessions
- Ear training
- Rehearsals
- Jazz combos
- Jazz History
- Music Theory
- Improvisation Classes
- Private instruction
- Opportunity to perform on stage
- Camp T-Shirt
This years Camp will be held at Westside Church In Omaha, NE (15050 West Dodge Rd). All workshop classes will be held on the west wing of the building and various class rooms. Friday's concert will be held in the Activities center located on the west end of the building.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
We ask that all camp participants bring their own Instrument and Gear. This includes all Rhythm section players. We will have a limited Amount of rhythm section gear available at the camp site. You will be allowed to leave your instrument and all gear overnight where all workshop classrooms will be securely locked up after each day.
