Florida Dance Theater: Innovations

Lakeland based Florida Dance Theater under the Artistic Direction of Carol Krajacic-Erkes last performed at the Miami Dance Festival to critical and audience praise in 2008. The company returns with a contemporary dance program that showcases its virtuoso dancers. Highlights of the performance include two new works by the company directors. Fallen Angel, choreographed by Krajacic-Erkes and set to original music by Leonard Levash, is a dark, moving piece about the struggle with outside influences. Red Moon, choreographed by Associate Director and Resident Choreographer Ferdinand DeJesus, is inspired by an idea that when inhabitants of the Earth see a lunar eclipse, astronauts on the moon would be bathed in red light and experience a solar eclipse.
