In a salute to the bold Spaniards who sailed to Florida 500 years ago, El Galeón is sailing Florida’s Atlantic Coast, inviting visitors from around Central Florida to come onboard and travel back in time 500 years to experience first hand what it was like to sail the open ocean in the 16th century

El Galeón is a detailed replica of ships that brought Spanish explorers and settlers to Florida after Juan Ponce de León claimed the land for Spain in April 1513. It is a floating museum and a living-history testament to the mariners who forged Florida’s history. Visitors will learn about Florida history and sense the spirit of adventure that drove Spanish mariners to explore distant lands five centuries ago.

After your interactive tour you’ll step off the ship into a festival of exhibits, displays and cuisine. An exhibition of intricately detailed 16th century maps will be on display several of which show and name Cape Canaveral on them! The Galleon will be docked in the Cove in Port Canaveral between Fishlips and Baja Tavern/Milliken’s. The ship will be open for public tours on weekends from 9:00am to 5:00pm and weekdays from noon to 5:00pm.
