Swan Lake - Ballet

This is a tragic tale of pure love and mistaken identity.  A young Prince Siegfreid is celebrating his 21^st birthday.  He is told by his mother, the queen, that he must choose a maiden to be his honorable bride at his ball.  In an attempt to avoid this decision, the prince gathers his friends and journeys into the forest to hunt. As dusk settles many swans appear and transform into young maidens.  The prince falls in love with the queen of the swans Odette.  He learns that the young women have been put under the spell of an evil sorcerer, Von Rothbart.  Only the pledge of true love by a man pure of heart will break the spell.  As Prince Siegfreid pledges his love to Odette, Von Rothbart takes her away.
