A relaxed evening of food and beverages around the Tiki in the gardens of IMMA, curated by Concrete Tiki (Michelle Darmody and Fiona Hallinan), to mark the end of the SUMMER RISING festival. Accompanied by live music performances by musician/DJ Gentle Boy and trad-indie-dance fiddler Daithí Ó Drónaí, you can watch the sun go down in the gorgeous grounds and surrounds of the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
This intimate foodie gathering begins with a handcrafted cocktail and intriguing canapés by Domestic Godless. A delicious buffet by Concrete Tiki follows, including lamb and veggie skewers hot off the grill, flatbreads and a selection of tantalising salads and sides. Leave room for dessert – slices of Miena's handmade nougat and a summery iced coffee. Wine and prosecco are available by the glass or bottle, as well as a selection of craft beers.
Come early for a private tour of the Stan Douglas Mise en Scène exhibition from 6.30 to 7pm. Tour starting point is the main IMMA reception.
Michelle Darmody of The Cake Café and artist Fiona Hallinan are Concrete Tiki, curators of the SUMMER RISING food programme.
Gentleboy is the solo project of Dublin musician Paul Maguire. Hoping to make experimental electronic music with a pop aesthetic (if that isn't a contradiction) take hip-hop rhyming and play it with other oral traditions, like singing, mumbling, stream of thought, personal mantras. https://soundcloud.com/gentleboy/me-and-my-man
Daithí O'Drónai uses loopstations, kaoss Pads, synthesizers and drum machines to create a unique and exceptional sound all centered around one instrument: the Fiddle. https://daithi.bandcamp.com/
Tickets are €20 and include a welcome cocktail, a three course feast and the evenings' entertainment.
For more information on the events over the course of the 10 day SUMMER RISING, check out the IMMA Website and Facebook pages!
Booking for the Concrete Tiki Razing closes at midnight Saturday 13 June and tickets are non-refundable.
