SCCU Presents: America the Beautiful

The newly formed Southwestern College Choral Union presents a red, white, and blue musical tribute to America featuring well-known folk songs and composers.  America the Beautiful is a tribute of gratitude to all those who served or are still serving our country in defense of our freedoms.  The concert begins with a rousing salute to our country and those freedoms we hold dear with a collection of patriotic favorites including the Star Spangled Banner, God Bless the USA, Tribute to the Armed Forces, and America the Beautiful.  Interwoven video and audio will bring memories of endurance and stories of heroism that will continue to live with us all. SCCU will also pay tribute to some American composers who have contributed to our country’s musical heritage including Stephen Foster’s Oh Susanna!, Aaron Copland’s Long Time Ago, and William Dawson’s Soon-Ah Will be Done. Audience members of all ages will be able to enjoy this patriotic salute to America and its veterans!

All Students and Current Faculty and Staff Members at Southwestern College receive free admittance to the concert. Veterans also receive tickets at a decreased rate of $8.00/ticket. The discounts will be applied at checkout.
