Heather Kropf - Chrysalis Album Release

Singer-songwriter/producer Heather Kropf has become a fixture on the Pittsburgh live music circuit, honing her craft along the way. She has quietly charmed audiences with her lush, literate blend of jazz-influenced piano-based pop and has turned the heads of music critics and fellow songwriters alike. Tastemakers at WYEP have celebrated her past releases among the top of what Pittsburgh music has to offer in their annual Year in Review publications.

 

In her new release, Chrysalis (released June 17), Heather pushes into new spacious musical territory with Brooklyn-born multi-instrumentalist, composer and co-producer, Jeff Berman (AppalAsia, Blink, Silk Sound). The journey began in 2012 with a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund the recording sessions. From there the co-producers assembled a cast of Pittsburgh musicians, pulling from the jazz, classical, rock, and singer-songwriter communities, to create a resonant chamber for her new material. The result is an exquisite and approachable collection of ten songs that will please longtime fans of her music while suggesting an exciting new direction of where she is heading as an artist.
