Event Description
We're pleased to team up with Horror Realm to bring Mink Stole to the Hollywood for a special, filthy evening in Odorama!
Born in Baltimore, Md., Nancy Paine Stoll, better known by her stage name Mink Stole, landed a role as a party guest in director John Waters’ 1966 film “Roman Candles,” and the two have been working together ever since. She’s considered a member of the Dreamlanders, or Waters’ ensemble of regular cast and crew members. Mink Stole will be at the Hollywood Theater for a special screening of Waters’ 1981 film “Polyester” (R, 86 min.), a picture about a suburban housewife whose life is crumbling down around her. Upon its release, the film carried a gimmick called Odorama, in which moviegoers could smell what they saw on screen through scratch-and-sniff cards provided by the theater.
Odorama are scratch-and-sniff cards invented by John Waters for use along with his film Polyester. They are extremely rare and none are currently in production. We scoured the globe and tracked down some in a theater in the U.K. that had some in storage.
We have two types of tickets available: Regular Floor Seats for $15, and VIP Balcony Seats for $25. Both types of tickets will have the opportunity to have Mink Stole sign items in the lower lobby from 6-7pm, and will include one Odorama card. A VIP ticket (only 50 available) includes a Meet & Greet Reception with Mink Stole, VIP balcony seating, an Odorama card for the film, and free popcorn and soda.
The schedule for the evening:
5:00pm - private VIP Ticket holder Meet & Greet reception with Mink Stole, with refreshments
9:00pm - Multiple Maniacs
6:00pm - general doors open and Mink Stole signing in lobby
7:00pm - introduction of Mink Stole, followed by screening of John Waters' 1981 film Polyester in Odorama
9:00pm - Multiple Maniacs
