IMMA in association with Totally Dublin are proud to present a night that will transport you back to the 90’s Dublin club scene.
In honour of IMMA’s spring opening weekend, artist Haroon Mirza will headline a retrospective of the music that created the Dublin rave scene. Featuring sets from Donal Dineen (2FM), Adrian Dunlea (Sir Henry’s, Cork) and the Totally Dublin DJs, the wondrous surroundings of The Chapel in IMMA will become a tribute to club nights like the System, Orbit and Dance Crazy.
Haroon Mirza’s latest exhibition Are jee be? plays with sound and light to evoke a short-lived club night of the past (‘The System’) and challenge the way we view the systems and processes that surround us. On April 5th he will untangle the theme of his work and play the songs that inspire this multimedia feast.
Donal Dineen has been gracing the country’s airwaves and screens for well over 10 years between Radio Activity, Small Hours and No Disco. Dineen has played an active part in shaping the Irish listening habits on with his shows on Today FM, 2FM, RTÉ 2 and from his numerous festivals appearances and gigs.
Adrian Dunlea played in the now-defunct Sir Henry’s nightclub in Cork when it hosted one of Europe’s most respected dance nights, the ‘Sweat’. Adrian Dunlea was privy to some of the biggest names in dance music taking to the stage over the course of the ‘90s and will bring a little bit of Sir Henry’s to The Chapel to get the night in full swing.
Meanwhile the Totally Dublin DJs will be there to hold your hand and start your trip back to the raves of yesteryear from 8pm.
