Can you hear those sleigh bells jingling? Discover the magic of winter in Edmonton’s scenic River Valley. Admire twinkling lights strung up around Fort Edmonton Park’s historic streets, while bundled up in a festive horse-drawn wagon ride throughout the entire park. Enjoy a cozy hot chocolate stop to warm up before you continue your tour. Wrap up your tour with a toasty bonfire.This charming winter adventure is a perfect outdoor activity with loved ones. Up to 23 people per group booking.
Your 1 hour experience will include...
- Approximately a 30-40 min wagon ride through a festive Fort Edmonton Park
- Cozy blankets and hot chocolate to keep you warm on your ride
- Lit up wagons for night time tours
- Access to a warm firepit
**When you arrive, please take the first right turn onto the service road and check in with our guard house attendant, as our Front Entry Plaza is closed for the season. Please park in Lot G and head to Bill's Confectionary on 1920s Street. Hot chocolate will be available inside!
Please Note: There is an immediate cancellation or stop of all wagon rides at -23 celsius or below (with or without windchill) or if conditions are not suitable (ice etc).

Are tickets available at the gate?
Tickets are not available at the Front Gate as it is closed for the season. They must be pre-purchased online.
How much are Winter Wagon Rides?
Adult (11+) $25.00 (+GST)
Youth (3-10) $10.00 (+ GST)
Child (2 & Under) Free
Private Wagon Ride (for up to 23 People) $300 (+GST)
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are non-refundable. Cancellation or stop of all wagon rides occurs at -23 or below (with or without windchill) or if conditions are not suitable. In the event of a cancellation, rides will be refunded.
How many people can fit on a wagon?
Up to 23 adults/youth can fit in a wagon. Children under the age of 2 do not count towards this seating capacity.
I want to book out a full wagon. Is this possible?
Group bookings are available based on availability. Our team would be happy to assist with your group booking. They can be reached at info@fortedmontonpark.ca.
What types of payments do you take?
We are happy to accept Visa, Mastercard, and Interac.
Are the train and streetcars running?
No, the streetcar or the train are not running.
Will any buildings be open?
2025 Tours - Bill’s Confectionery will be open for additional food and beverage options available to purchase after your wagon ride. Please note that the remaining buildings within Fort Edmonton Park are not open to the Public during your experience.
Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available at Parking Lot G, which is located behind the Capitol Theatre on 1920s Street. Log G is only accessible via the service road and will be marked with signage indicating where to turn. See map here.
How do you get there?
Take Fox Drive to Fort Edmonton Park Road then turn on to the service road and follow the road into the Park. There are many city streets in the vicinity that have signs that direct to Fort Edmonton Park. We do not recommend using the Edmonton Transit System for Winter Wagon Rides as you are not able to walk on the service road to get to the meeting point.
Is smoking allowed?
Fort Edmonton Park is smoke-free.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, Open City Wi-Fi is available, but due to the nature of our site, it can sometimes be spotty.
What happens if I am running late?
Wagons leave promptly 10 minutes after the event start time. If you arrive later than that you will miss your wagon/booking. There will be no refunds for being late.
