You can book up to 30 students per class, please see our FAQ page for recommended adult:student ratio per age category.
If you're booking for multiple classes, you must register on a separate booking.
*Please note teachers and adult volunteers are included in the field trip pricing, for up to 8 adults. Additional adult attendees are an added cost.
Availability: October 15th 2024 - April 25th 2025 (Monday-Friday)
And May 26th 2025 - June 17th 2024 (Monday+Tuesday)
$315 (+GST)
- All programs are 2 hours in length
- Off-Season Guided Field Trips are available for bookings from October to April (Monday-Friday) + May 26 to June 17 (Monday-Tuesday) Do not include General Admissions to Fort Edmonton Park as the Park is closed to the public.
- Payment is due upon booking.

Is the fur traders life for you?
The Chief Factor has issued his decree: the biggest shipment of furs must be sent to York Factory this year. Join us for an interactive tour of the 1846 Hudson Bay Company Fort and Cree Encampment. You and your students will learn about the people and communities in 1846 amiskwaciwâskahikan (Edmonton) and participate in hands-on activities.

Program 2: Traplines and Traders: The Fur Trade at Fort Edmonton
Hunt for furs! Build a travois! Make a good trade! Explore a map!
In this interactive program your class will follow the path a pelt takes to get from Fort Edmonton to the York Factory. Your class will tour the Fort with hands-on activities to learn the history of the fur trade in Canada and Fort Edmonton’s role in it.
