Shiver me timbers! The Old Theater is gathering a motley crew of local talent to perform this swashbuckling new pirate show. Director P.F. Nocera has uniquely blended a play he wrote, Blackbeard's Last Revenge, with a comedy written by A.M. Dittman, 13 Signs You Should Stop Being a Pirate. While presenting an historically accurate account of the pirate Blackbeard (Edward Teach) and his attempt to escape Lt. Maynard who was hired by the Virginia governor to hunt him down and kill him, Nocera intersperses the most entertaining scenes from 13 Signs You Should Stop Being a Pirate about a dastardly crew on the high seas confronting crew members questioning the pirate's lifestyle, distracting swordfights on ship, and manatees that look like mermaids. It's a goofy yet accurate portrayal of the arrr of being a pirate, suitable for all ages.
Box Office opens one hour before the show. Beverages are provided by donation. All proceeds go to support The Old Theater, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
