ABOUT EPIC QUEST

Huzzah and welcome, adventurer! Epic Quest is a 3-day, team-based competition to determine the ULTIMATE fellowship of geeks! The competition will be held September 11-12-13, 2020 from the safety and comfort of your own home. 

The top 3 teams who earn the most points will win our Grand Prizes, and 5 teams who impress our staff will win our Quest Genius Prizes. Once the competition time is up, the LeftField Media judges will review the entries to make any necessary deductions. Then, on Monday September 14th, the victors will be crowned!

Each individual Epic Quest registration allows you to successfully compete on behalf of your team and complete mini-quests on your smartphone, as well as includes an exclusive Epic Quest enamel pin which will be mailed to the address you provided at checkout.

WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?

Here’s what you can win:

1. First Place: One (1) 3-Day Premium Pass to Awesome Con or Rose City Comic Con 2021 for each team member, two (2) two-night hotel stays for the weekend of the con, six (6) autographs, each for a different guest, one (1) photo op of your team’s choice (restrictions apply), one (1) swag bag for each team member, an awesome shareable social graphic, eternal bragging rights


2. Second Place: One (1) 3-Day Premium Pass to Awesome Con or Rose City Comic Con 2021 for each team member, one (1) photo op of your team’s choice (restrictions apply), one (1) swag bag for each team member, an awesome shareable social graphic, eternal bragging rights


3. Third Place: One (1) 3-Day Premium Pass to Awesome Con or Rose City Comic Con 2021 for each team member, one (1) swag bag for each team member, an awesome shareable social graphic, eternal bragging rights

Additionally, five Epic Quest teams who send an over-the-top, super amazing, truly magnificent mini-quest submission—as determined by a staff vote—will be awarded one of our Quest Genius Prizes:

Winners will be revealed on the Monday after the challenge. The team with the highest score at the end of the game may not be the winner as deductions may be applied for incomplete or incorrect challenges. 

BEFORE YOU REGISTER PLEASE READ BELOW

To participate in Epic Quest, you’ll first need to put together your team! Your teammates may be within your household or far away. Just make sure you can virtually contact them throughout the competition. Your team may have a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of six (6) members total. You should all have smartphones with the ability to download apps, take photos, and record video. Jr. Team members such as young children can share a device with another team member and their registration does not count against your 6 person team total.

Want to play Epic Quest but don’t have any teammates willing to join you on your journey? We can help fix that! Purchase a Solo level registration and we’ll match you up with other lone wolves before the competition kicks off. Not only will you have an epic time, but you’ll make some new friends in the process!

Once your team is assembled, make sure they all know the team email, team name, and team password. There's more on that below.

Finally, make sure every single person on your team registers right here in order to receive their Epic Quest pin and to be able to fully participate.

1. Choose a team name. Your team name must be in screen name format. For example, your team would be called EpicQuestWinners20 not The Epic Quest Winners. Each team member should enter the SAME team name, when prompted, when registering. Your name must be 100% unique, so we may need to make small tweaks. Try to think of a team name that won’t already have a duplicate. Consider adding special spelling and/or numbers to make it more unique.


2. Choose one person to be the main point of contact and use their email as the team email. This is where we will be contacting you if you have won! If this person already has an account with the site/app Scavify, you must use a different email and start a brand new one. Using a previously created account will lead to no-fun errors in gameplay. 


3. Choose a team password. Your team should select a password that will be shared with the whole team, so we recommend making up something simple and non-personal.

Each team member will need access to all 3 of the above pieces of information in order to successfully register and will receive a registration confirmation registration from Showclix. Individuals must complete their registrations by September 10, 2020 at 12:00 AM PDT. Teams will be activated on Scavify on September 10 and you will receive an email confirming you’re good to download the game app and login.
