THE CINCY BRASS – Headliner Friday
Friday October 2, 2015 – 9:00pm
Ten dudes + ten cohesively-played instruments + Cincy-sass + choice covers + rabid fun = 3 entire sets devoted to getting your dance groove on! "N'awlins Soul Meets Cincinnati Funk" - That is the best way to describe The Cincy Brass. This 9-piece brass band has the essence of Bourbon St, funk, hip-hop, and jazz all wrapped into an epic explosion of sound and passion. Whether it’s an original off of their debut album, a mind-blowing twist on a cover of a pop hit (Beyonce, James Brown, Def Leppard, Lady Gaga, George Michaels, etc), or an old time N'awlins street music hit, The Cincy Brass delivers a performance that can't be duplicated. The band exploded onto the scene in the past few years, performing at some of Cincinnati's hippest music venues and biggest festivals. You also may have seen the brass at Reds games and opening for acts like 311, Sublime, Foreigner, Blessid Union of Souls, and Journey. Make sure you don't miss The Cincy Brass!
THE ALMIGHTY GET DOWN – Headliner Saturday
Saturday October 3, 2015 – 8:30pm
The people have spoken, and the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards have declared The Almighty Get Down the Best Live Act of 2014!
The Almighty Get Down are 7 mother's sons who have dedicated their lives to the search for good music within themselves, to make something lasting with the people they meet, and to go ahead and have the time of their lives doing it. They’re old school, future school, all original funk, soul, RnB, with all the wild abandon of a straight up rock concert.
According to The Almighty Get Down, who by the way, enjoy “long romantic walks on the bass”, “Being in a band is kind of like being part of the team that becomes Captain Planet. We can all do pretty cool things on our own, but joined together, we get to harness the unstoppable power of human emotion, which manifests itself in our own original music; which in turn, makes its way into the listeners' brains and causes a chemical reaction leading to what scientists have labeled as "the mental benefits of grooving".
Slick River Rockets
Friday 5:00pm
The Slick River Rockets combine the traditional elements of Rockabilly (acoustic rhythm guitar and stand-up bass), with more contemporary lead guitar styles. Using vintage 1950's drums, Eric Phagan ties the sound together with infectious back beats and tempos.
Travis Harris and the West Coast Turnarounds
Saturday 12:30pm
We are excited to have secured Travis Harris and the West Coast Turnarounds while on tour through the Midwest for the October 2015 release of their sophomore album. They’ll be opening for national acts throughout the region including Confederate Railroad, Travis Meadows, and Blackberry Smoke.
Travis Harris & TWCT are holding steady to the roots of original country music. They’re writing and singing songs from the common man's point of view.
