On Gene the Werewolf's second studio album, "Wicked Love", the Pittsburgh rockers rev into a

higher gear. Released November 29th, 2011, Wicked Love sees the quintet bring their gritty-rock

roots to the forefront. Gene explains, "Most of my former self was left behind on the band's

debut 'Light Me Up,'" while speaking of the pop infused Rock N' Roll that crafted the

aforementioned record. When referring to the band's newest album, Gene exclaims, "It's the

perfect soundtrack to a beer-infused Saturday night!" The first single, "I Only Wanna Rock N'

Roll", exemplifies what Gene had to say about his latest album. "The track sounds as caustic as

my new look", says Gene referring to sporting a dirty cut-off jean jacket and ass-kicking boots

rather than his sheik 70s inspired white suit. However, there's more to this album than just a

change in scenery.

In May of 2009, Gene The Werewolf recorded their first EP "Light Me Up" at Innovation

Studios in Steubenville, OH with producer Jamie Woolford (The Gin Blossoms, The Format,

The A.K.A.'s). In June of 2011, the boys again decided to enlist the help of Woolford on their

second release, and first full-length album, "Wicked Love". The idea this time was to fly to

Phoenix, AZ for 3 weeks to record the album at STEM Recording Studio to try something new,

and focus strictly on the music, with no distractions. The band also flew out, studio engineer, and

Gene's touring guitarist, Mike Ofca to round out the team that made the 2009 album such a

success. "The process this time was great", says Gene. "I couldn't be happier with how the album

turned or how the recording really reflects the evolution of Gene that we were going for".

Another noteworthy aspect about the release of "Wicked Love" is that the band plans to give the

album away for free! "Giving this record away for free was something that was incredibly

important to us from the start of the writing process. We know that we are at the top of our game

right now and people need to hear that," says guitarist Drew Donegan. "The band has done the

proverbial dance with managers, potential labels, booking agents, etc. Making money isn't why

any of us got involved with music when we were younger. At the end of the day, we play

absurdly loud, sweat our asses off, and then sleep on filthy apartment floors together because we

are friends and love doing it, not to become the world's next rock star or to make money from it."

Ultimately, the band's intentions are as pure as they've ever been. "We formed this band to play

loud, rowdy, and crude Rock N' Roll," says Gene. "I think with this record we've accomplished

everything we've ever wanted out of being in a band together."

Since the release of the bands debut "Light Me Up", Gene The Werewolf have been featured in

various national and local publications including Spin Magazine, Pittsburgh Post Gazette,

Tribune Review, Pittsburgh City Paper, and more. Gene was on SPIN magazine's Top 15 "Songs

You Must Hear Now" in November 2009, and #2 on The Daily News "Best of 2009" list. The

band has also enjoyed local and regional airplay along with frequent in-studio performances on

102.5 WDVE and 105.9 WXDX in Pittsburgh.

Late in 2010 Gene had the idea to cover a version of the 1978 local classic "Steelers Fight Song".

Gene's version, named "Steelers Polka", went viral during the football season and received over

360,000 views on YouTube along with airplay from local and national radio.

In January of 2012, Gene's new single "I Only Wanna Rock N Roll" was added to full rotation

to Pittsburgh's biggest radio staion 102.5 WDVE! It reached the "#1 most played song" on the

station for 3 weeks in a row, beating out the Foo Fighters and Nickelback.

In November 2012, Gene The Werewolf signed with European label Frontiers Records, home

of iconic bands like Journey, Def Leppard, Night Ranger, Rick Springfield and more! Their

international debut entitled "Rock N Roll Animal" was release in all of Europe on November 23

and in Japan on November 21.
