Event Description
How We Scaled The Resumator

How We Scaled The Resumator
(or, Lessons Learned from Jurassic Park)

Are you a developer who likes free food, has a sense of humor, and wants to learn how to solve issues related to scalability? Come enjoy some food and learn how a lean engineering team built a web app that has scaled to support thousands of customers, including Heroku, Pinterest, Atari, IGN, HootSuite, bitly, and Klout.

This is the first in what will be a series of talks by The Resumator engineering team. This evening will include two presentations:

When the Park Fences Go Down: Quickly Moving from a Single Server to the Cloud

Chris Armstrong, Director of Engineering

Must Go Faster: Full-text Searching with Apache Solr

Joe Hagerty, Senior Software Engineer

Both talks will include time for any questions, so come prepared! Until then, "Hold onto your butts"...
