Caroline Alexander, whose work includes the bestselling The Endurance: Shackleton's Legendary Anarctic Expedition, will speak at the Library Society on Thursday, March 1st.
Alexander studied philosophy and theology at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, and has a doctorate in classics from Columbia University. In addition to authoring bestsellers such as The Bounty: The True Story of the Mutiny on the Bounty and The War That Killed Achilles, she writes frequently for The New Yorker, National Geographic, and Conde Nast Traveller.
